About Helen Astarte
I look for the gifts in life and take delight in what I find.
I am constantly exploring creative outlets and at the moment I devote time to painting and writing. I love pomegranates; to draw, paint and eat!

Professionally I have worked in the education sector. As a teacher I loved the vibrancy of the classroom. It’s a privilege to be in such a dynamic space helping to form young adults – academically and emotionally.
From the classroom I moved into the central office of the Victorian education department. My dedication to making a difference to the lives of children moved from teaching children to supporting teacher learning. Communicating, including public speaking, was a significant part of this role. The foundation of good communication is respect and trust; this forms the basis of how I approach my work as a celebrant.
Being a celebrant had been a hidden desire for quite a while. My interest in being part of such a joyful event lingered and led to training as a marriage celebrant.
